ROSA, the leader of the pack, has been practising hair dressing for over 25 years. She was originally mentored under a barber and quickly picked up the skill and was confidently cutting hair within 6 months of starting her career. Within her first year of hair dressing she entered 2 competitions for men’s hair, where she walked away with a first and second place! Her passion for hair dressing flourished from there as she delved into both men’s and women’s style cuts, colouring and all aspects of hair dressing.
She truly is an all-rounder when it comes to hair, she has an eye for colour matching, style cuts to suit your face shape and personality and can do anything you ask for whether drastic bold colours or natural highlights and cuts, extensions or treatments! Rosa is not only an experienced hair dresser, but she is also a trained nail technician and qualified beauty therapist and make-up artist, so in a nut shell she’s every women’s dream hair dresser – offering a full service treatment for hair, nails and beauty.
Rosa previously owned and managed another two salons before opening Urban Hair in 2011, she loves coming to work every day and is a huge believer in further education.
She believes that “it doesn’t matter how long you have been doing your job or how qualified you think you are, you can always improve yourself. The day I think that I cannot be any better at my job, or that I can’t learn anymore then I’ll hang up my scissors”
BETH started her apprenticeship under a school based apprenticeship (ASBA) in 2008, and went full time in 2009. She had always wanted to be a hairdresser from as far back as she can remember. She has worked alongside Rosa since her apprenticeship and they have grown as a team since day dot! Beth has experimented with drastic style cuts and colours on herself and if you’re ever in the Salon you’ll know that her hair is never the same, she’s gone from long to super short, pink to jet black and at the moment she’s a vibrant red with a shaved style cut!
She loves getting creative and can make any hair colour look good on you! Whether a natural look or something different she can cater to anything you want.
Beth has extensive experience in cutting, colouring, men’s cuts, extensions, colour matching and treatments. Beth is always looking at current trends and seasonal styles so that when her clients come in she knows exactly what to recommend. Her further research into the hairdressing industry has provided her with numerous extra qualifications and expert skills.
Beth’s favourite aspect of hairdressing is ‘complete makeovers’ and making a client feel the best they possibly can about their hair.
MARIA started her career in hairdressing at a very young age. She grew up in a salon with both her parents being hairdressers, and always wanted to get involved and help as much as she could. She was known as the social butterfly of the salon.
She completed an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA), which allowed her to complete year 11 and 12 Certificate whilst following her passion of becoming a hairdresser. She has also completed her Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 in hairdressing as well. Making her an expert in all things colour, cut and style and having 6 years of experience under her belt.
Her passion is seeing how she can transform a client’s hair and seeing the confidence boost they get when they leave the salon. Maria holds her client relationships close to her, and loves the social aspect of hairdressing. She enjoys the friendships, chats and laughs that each day brings and the ongoing close relationships with regular clients.
Her favourite thing about the hairdressing industry is learning and educating others about the constant innovation, techniques and trends on all things hair and beauty.
